Venkat Garg Fake Passport Case Ambala: The Special Task Force (STF) Ambala has arrested a Yamunanagar resident for allegedly helping notorious criminal Venkat Garg obtain a fake passport before he fled the country. The arrest is linked to the high-profile Harbilas murder case, in which Venkat Garg is the main accused.
According to STF officials, the accused, identified as Rakesh, was taken into custody after his name surfaced during the interrogation of Venkat Garg. Investigators revealed that Rakesh played a key role in arranging a fraudulent passport that enabled the wanted criminal to travel abroad.
The STF investigation found that Venkat Garg left India on December 10, 2024, from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport using forged passport documents. He first travelled to the United Arab Emirates and later reached Georgia on January 26, 2025. Following international coordination, authorities traced his location and initiated deportation proceedings.
Fake Passport Prepared Using Gurugram Address
Investigators discovered that the passport was obtained using a fake residential address in Pyramid Urban Homes, Sector-67, Gurugram. A criminal case regarding the fraudulent documents was already registered at Naraingarh Police Station.
Based on STF recommendations, authorities cancelled Venkat Garg’s passport on February 4, 2025. Law enforcement agencies also secured six open-dated arrest warrants and issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) and an Interpol Red Corner Notice against him.
International Coordination Led to Arrest
Officials stated that intelligence inputs from international agencies helped locate Venkat Garg in Georgia. After confirming his whereabouts, legal procedures were initiated to bring him back to India. During the subsequent investigation, STF officers uncovered the involvement of Rakesh, leading to his arrest.
Police believe the latest arrest will help uncover additional details regarding the forged documents network and the assistance provided to the accused before he fled the country.
The STF continues its investigation into the Venkat Garg Fake Passport Case and is examining whether more individuals were involved in creating fraudulent documents or facilitating the accused’s escape abroad.
