Missing Woman Found Dead Inside Car
The victim, identified as Maninder Kaur, a resident of Sector 8, Ambala City, had been reported missing on June 27. On Sunday morning around 8 a.m., her body was found in the back seat of a black Maruti Swift parked inside a residential property in Gobindgarh village.
According to police, the woman had multiple sharp weapon injuries on her neck, chest, and both hands. Investigators recovered a folding knife, documents, and a pair of women’s sandals from inside the vehicle. The body was later sent for a post-mortem examination before being handed over to the family.
Police officials stated that the house owner and the owner of the car, identified as Maninder Singh, is currently missing, making him a key person in the ongoing investigation.
Woman Went Missing After Leaving Hospital
According to the complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Sukhbir Singh, Maninder Kaur had been staying at a private hospital in Ambala City to care for their ailing mother, Sarjinder Kaur, who had been admitted since June 23.
On June 27, at around 12:10 p.m., Maninder reportedly left the hospital to buy coconut water for her mother but never returned. Concerned family members searched for her before filing a missing person complaint at Model Town Police Post.
Body Discovered by House Owner’s Mother
Police said the discovery was made after the mother of the missing car owner noticed the parked vehicle inside the house on Sunday morning. She informed relatives, who then alerted the police.
Family members reportedly told investigators that Maninder Singh had arrived at the house late Saturday night in the Swift car before leaving again on his motorcycle. Since then, his mobile phone has remained switched off.
When police reached the scene along with forensic experts, they found the woman’s blood-stained body lying on the rear seat of the locked vehicle.
Police Investigating Multiple Angles
Station House Officer Dharambir confirmed that a murder case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the law. Preliminary forensic findings suggest that the victim had been killed only a few hours before the body was discovered, although the exact cause and timing of death will be confirmed after the final post-mortem report.
Investigators are examining multiple angles, including the possibility of a personal relationship between the victim and the missing vehicle owner. However, police have not officially confirmed any motive.
Family Demands Justice
The victim’s brother said Maninder Kaur had been married to Jasalpreet Singh from Batoli village in Lalru, Punjab, since 2009. The couple has a 13-year-old daughter and had been living in a rented house in Sector 8, Ambala City.
The incident has raised several unanswered questions, including how the victim reached Gobindgarh village and what connection, if any, existed between her and the missing car owner.
