Bolero accident in Naraingarh: Two people were killed in a tragic road accident on the Kala Amb–Naraingarh Road on Tuesday night after a Bolero overturned while its driver attempted to avoid a speeding Swift car allegedly coming from the wrong direction.
The deceased have been identified as Ram Kumar, a mechanic from Himachal Pradesh, and Rameshwar Ram, the Bolero driver from Yamunanagar. Both died after the vehicle overturned near the Dera Adda area.
Accident Occurred While Returning to Screening Plant
According to a complaint filed by Balwinder Singh, a resident of Dera Rama Bagh, a screening plant operates in the village. Ram Kumar, a resident of Tikkar Tal in Himachal Pradesh, worked as a mechanic at the plant, while Rameshwar Ram, from Ranjitpur in Yamunanagar, was employed as a driver.q
On the night of July 28, the workers had gone to Kala Amb in their vehicles to have dinner. At around 11:15 pm, they were returning to the screening plant.
Ram Kumar and Rameshwar Ram were travelling in the Bolero, while Balwinder Singh was following them in a Scorpio. Rameshwar Ram was driving the Bolero, with Ram Kumar seated beside him.
Bolero Hit Divider and Metal Railing
When the vehicles reached near Dera Adda village, in front of a Pir shrine, a Swift car reportedly approached from the Naraingarh side at high speed and on the wrong side of the road.
The Swift suddenly came in front of the Bolero. In an attempt to avoid a collision, Rameshwar Ram reportedly steered the Bolero away. The Swift narrowly passed the vehicle, but the Bolero lost control and crashed into the road divider and a metal railing before overturning.
Two Trapped Inside Vehicle
The impact left both occupants trapped inside the overturned Bolero. With the help of nearby residents, they were pulled out of the vehicle and taken to the Civil Hospital by ambulance.
Doctors examined both men and declared them dead.
Police have registered a case against the unidentified Swift driver and started an investigation. Authorities are working to identify the vehicle and determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
