Ambala Electricity Grievance Hearing – A special electricity grievance hearing was organized at the Baldev Nagar Electricity Office in Ambala on Tuesday to provide quick and permanent solutions to consumer issues. The public hearing, which lasted nearly three hours, received four complaints related to electricity services.
Most complaints were linked to incorrect electricity bills, delays in obtaining new power connections, and unscheduled power cuts. Three consumers reported receiving wrong bills and stated that repeated visits to the electricity department had failed to resolve their issues. Another complainant, Karnail Singh, requested the replacement of an electricity line in his area.
Senior officials present at the hearing reviewed the complaints and directed concerned officers to take immediate action. Officials also expressed dissatisfaction over delays in resolving consumer grievances and instructed field staff to ensure faster service delivery.
VK Goyal, Superintending Engineer of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN), said that all complaints received during the grievance hearing had been officially recorded. He added that instructions had been issued to the respective Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) to investigate the matters and provide permanent solutions at the earliest.
The initiative is part of the department’s efforts to improve customer service and address electricity-related concerns more efficiently across the district.
