Narayangarh, Ambala: Five people were injured after a speeding car allegedly collided with an auto-rickshaw, a motorcycle and an Activa on the Panjlasa-Kurali road near Krishna Rice Mill in Narayangarh on August 16. The car driver reportedly fled the scene after leaving the vehicle behind.
According to the complaint filed with the police, the accident took place at around 6:45 pm. Satish Kumar, 53, a resident of Bada Gaon, was returning towards his village on an Activa with his friend Jaipal. His younger brother Rajkumar was travelling behind them on a motorcycle.
Car Hits Three Vehicles One After Another
According to Satish Kumar’s statement, a car approaching from the opposite direction allegedly hit a passenger-filled auto-rickshaw near Krishna Rice Mill. The impact was so strong that the auto-rickshaw reportedly overturned three to four times, throwing its passengers onto the road.
After hitting the auto-rickshaw, the car allegedly struck the motorcycle travelling behind it and then collided with Satish Kumar’s Activa.
Five people were injured in the accident. The injured were identified as Satish Kumar, Jaipal, Sanjeev Kumar, Rulda Ram and Veena Rani.
Passersby helped the injured and took them to a nearby civil hospital for treatment. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, Satish Kumar was referred to the Civil Hospital in Ambala Cantonment. He later shifted to a private hospital for further treatment.
Another injured person, Sanjeev Kumar, was reportedly in serious condition and was referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh for specialized treatment.
Police Register FIR, Search for Driver Underway
Following the accident, the car driver allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. Narayangarh police subsequently registered a case against the driver based on Satish Kumar’s complaint.
Narayangarh Station House Officer Lalit Kumar said that an FIR had been registered based on the statements of the injured and that police teams had begun searching for the accused driver.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the driver.
The accident has raised concerns over speeding and road safety on the Panjlasa-Kurali route, particularly around areas with regular movement of passenger vehicles and two-wheelers.
