Ambala Jagannath Rath Yatra: A grand Rath Yatra dedicated to Lord Jagannath, Lord Baldev and Goddess Subhadra was taken out in Ambala City on Wednesday, drawing a large number of devotees. The procession was jointly organized by ISKCON Kurukshetra and the ISKCON Ambala Prachar Samiti.
The Rath Yatra was held under the leadership of HG Sakshi Gopal Prabhu, Vice President of ISKCON Kurukshetra. The religious procession began at around 5 pm from Ambala City Railway Station.
Devotees Pulled the Chariot Amid Chanting
After starting from the railway station, the Rath Yatra passed through several important areas of the city, including Kapda Market, Shukla Kund Road, Jagadhri Gate, Arya Chowk, Civil Hospital and Sector 7. The procession concluded at the Community Hall.
Throughout the route, devotees enthusiastically pulled the chariot while chanting “Jai Jagannath.” Several people welcomed the procession at different locations by showering flowers on the deities. Devotees were also seen dancing and participating in devotional celebrations along the route.
The atmosphere across the city remained vibrant with religious chants and devotional activities.
Mahaprasad Distributed After the Procession
After the Rath Yatra concluded, devotees were served Mahaprasad. A large number of devotees and several prominent members of the city participated in the religious event.
Significance of Jagannath Rath Yatra
Amit Kumar, Publicity Manager of ISKCON Ambala, explained that the Jagannath Rath Yatra holds special significance in Hindu scriptures and devotional tradition.
According to the belief associated with the festival, devotees who pull Lord Jagannath’s chariot with faith and devotion receive spiritual merit and blessings. The procession provides devotees with an opportunity to participate directly in the worship and celebrations associated with Lord Jagannath.
The successful organization of the Rath Yatra brought together devotees from different parts of Ambala, creating a festive and spiritual atmosphere across the city.
