Mission Hospital and Church Land Fraud Case
Ambala, August 8, 2026: Joseph William, the alleged key accused in the case involving fraudulent registrations of land belonging to Mission Hospital and a church in Ambala City, has been sent to jail after his three-day police remand ended.
Joseph William, an attorney holder and resident of Dashmesh Colony, Sector 24A, Gobindgarh, Punjab, was produced before the court on Friday after the completion of his remand. The court subsequently ordered that he be sent to judicial custody.
A day earlier, another accused, Sunita, was also produced before the court and sent to jail in connection with the same case.
According to the police investigation, the alleged fraud network was planned in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. During Joseph’s remand, the Economic Offences Wing team reportedly took him to Solan and conducted identification visits at locations connected with the case. However, police did not recover any material or property during the investigation.
16 People Named in the Case
Police have registered an FIR against 16 people in connection with the alleged fraud involving Mission Hospital and church property. So far, two key accused have been arrested, while police teams are continuing efforts to locate and arrest the other accused.
According to the case details, the alleged fraud involved the use of a forged power of attorney prepared in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The accused allegedly used this document along with a fraudulent property ID created on the Ambala City Municipal Corporation’s online portal to facilitate four allegedly fake property registrations.
The Ambala City police registered the case following a complaint by Mission Hospital director Dr. Sunil Kumar Sadiq. The FIR names 16 accused, including the alleged fake attorney holder and the purchasers involved in the disputed property transactions.
The complaint also reportedly raised allegations against the then District Revenue Officer of Ambala and a registration clerk.
Police Continue Investigation
With Joseph William and Sunita now in custody, investigators are continuing to examine the alleged property transactions and the role of other individuals named in the FIR.
Police teams are conducting raids to locate the remaining accused. Further developments in the case are expected as the investigation progresses.
The allegations in the case are subject to investigation and legal proceedings, and the guilt of the accused will be determined by the court.
