Naraingarh, Ambala, Chandsauli Hostel: A new girls hostel worth ₹5.58 crore will soon be constructed at the Regional Research Centre in Chandsauli under Maharana Pratap Horticultural University (MHU). The foundation stone for the project was laid on Tuesday by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Suresh Malhotra, who also participated in a tree plantation drive on the campus.
The hostel project aims to provide better residential facilities for students studying at the university’s College of Horticulture. According to Prof. Malhotra, the new accommodation will enhance the learning environment and support students by offering safe and modern hostel facilities close to the academic campus.
University officials said the construction of the girls hostel reflects MHU’s continued efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and improve student welfare at its regional research centres.
The development is expected to benefit female students by providing convenient on-campus accommodation, encouraging higher participation in horticultural education, and creating a better academic atmosphere.
