Ambala Service Lane Accident, Haryana: A 61-year-old man died after being struck by an unidentified vehicle while taking his routine evening walk on the service road along National Highway-44 in Ambala. Police have registered a case against the unknown driver and launched an investigation into the incident.
According to police, the victim, Prabhu Dayal, a resident of Shastri Colony, was walking on the service lane around 10:30 PM on July 17 after having dinner, as part of his daily routine. The accident occurred near the Hartron area when an unidentified vehicle allegedly hit him and fled the scene.
Passersby rushed the injured man to the Civil Hospital in Ambala Cantonment, where doctors provided initial treatment before referring him to PGIMER Chandigarh due to the seriousness of his injuries. Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The complaint was filed by the victim’s nephew, Vijay, a resident of Khatik Mandi. Based on his statement, the police have registered an FIR against the unidentified driver and are reviewing available evidence to identify the vehicle involved.
Authorities have appealed to anyone who witnessed the accident or has information about the vehicle to come forward and assist with the investigation.
