A tragic Ambala road accident claimed the life of a 29-year-old man while leaving his younger brother critically injured after a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle near Akbarpur village in the Narayangarh area on Saturday afternoon.
The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision. Police have registered a case against the unidentified car driver and launched an investigation.
Speeding Car Hits Motorcycle from Behind
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Sanjeev Kumar alias Sanju (29), a resident of Badi Bassi village. His brother Manish Kumar sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.
The accident occurred near the Akbarpur Main Bus Stand booth while the brothers were riding toward Ahmedpur village to work in their fields.
Eyewitness Relative Describes the Incident
In his complaint to the police, Inderjit Kumar, cousin of the victims, said he was riding another motorcycle behind the brothers when the accident occurred.
He stated that around 2:30 PM, a speeding car approached from behind and hit the motorcycle with great force. The impact threw both brothers onto the road, causing severe injuries and badly damaging the motorcycle.
One Brother Dies, Other Referred to Hospital
Local residents rushed both injured men to the hospital. Doctors declared Sanjeev Kumar dead due to his injuries.
Considering the seriousness of Manish Kumar’s condition, doctors referred him to Civil Hospital, Ambala City, for advanced treatment.
Sanjeev was married and is survived by his wife and a two-year-old daughter.
Police Begin Investigation
Following the family’s complaint, police registered an FIR against the unknown car driver. Officials are collecting evidence from the accident site and reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and the driver who fled after the crash.
The investigation into the Ambala road accident is currently underway.
