Ambala high-tension wire accident, Haryana: An 11-year-old boy who suffered critical burn injuries after coming into contact with high-tension power lines in Boh village has died during treatment. The tragic incident has left the village in mourning, while another injured child continues to receive medical care.
Boy Succumbs to Burn Injuries
The deceased child, Kunal, had been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chandigarh after sustaining severe burns in the accident on June 23.
Despite continuous medical treatment, the young boy succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning. His death has deeply saddened family members and residents of Boh village.
Accident Happened While Playing on Rooftop
According to reports, Kunal and another child, Kartik, were flying pigeons on the rooftop of a house in Boh village when they accidentally came into contact with nearby high-tension electricity wires.
The powerful electric shock left both children seriously injured. The intensity of the current caused severe burn injuries, triggering panic among family members and neighbors.
The children were first taken to the Civil Hospital in Ambala Cantonment for emergency treatment before doctors referred them to a hospital in Chandigarh for advanced medical care.
Another Child Continues Treatment
While Kunal lost his battle for life, Kartik, who reportedly suffered around 35% burn injuries, remains under treatment. Doctors continue to monitor his condition.
Family members are hoping for his speedy recovery as he continues to receive specialized medical care.
Villagers Demand Action
The incident has sparked anger among residents of Boh village, who have raised concerns over the presence of high-tension electricity lines passing close to residential rooftops.
Locals have demanded that the electricity department take immediate safety measures to prevent similar accidents in the future and ensure dangerous power lines do not pose a threat to residents, especially children.
