Boutique Loot Case
Shahzadpur, Ambala: Police have registered an FIR against around 50 people in connection with the alleged vandalism and looting at a boutique in Sai Market, Shahzadpur. The incident took place on August 16, when a group allegedly entered the shop armed with weapons and damaged property before taking cash, goods and important documents.
The case was registered after boutique owner Babita approached Ambala Superintendent of Police Ajit Singh Shekhawat along with her husband and sought action in the matter. Following assurances from the police, Shahzadpur police registered the FIR on Monday night.
Group Allegedly Entered Boutique With Weapons
According to Babita’s complaint, she has been running a boutique at her ancestral shop in Sai Market for the past six to seven years.
She alleged that at around 1:30 pm on August 16, Yashpal alias Bunty, Ashu and Satish arrived at the boutique along with around 50 other people. According to her statement, members of the group were carrying sticks, axes, iron pipes and pistols.
The group allegedly entered the boutique forcibly and threatened the people inside. Babita alleged that the attackers confined them inside the shop and assaulted them when they resisted.
CCTV Cameras and Shop Property Damaged
The accused allegedly vandalized the boutique and damaged CCTV cameras installed both inside and outside the premises. They reportedly searched the shop and took cash from the cash counter, along with goods and important documents.
According to the complaint, the group fled after a passerby noticed the incident and called the police emergency number 112.
CCTV footage reportedly captured some of the masked individuals during the incident. Police are examining available footage and other evidence to identify those involved.
Police Begin Search for Suspects
Shahzadpur police have registered a case against Yashpal alias Bunty, Ashu, Satish and around 50 people named in connection with the incident. Police are also working to identify other unidentified suspects.
Shahzadpur Station House Officer Om Chand said that police had inspected the crime scene and that efforts were underway to identify and arrest the named as well as unidentified accused.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are examining CCTV footage and other evidence related to the alleged vandalism, assault and theft.
