Ambala Tiranga Yatra
Ambala, August 13, 2026: A grand Tiranga Yatra was organised near the Sector 10 Sports Stadium in Ambala on Wednesday evening as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. Around 300 players and coaches participated in the event, carrying the national flag and raising patriotic slogans.
The event was organised jointly by the District Administration and the Department of Sports and Youth Programmes. BJP district president Mandeep Rana and SDM Darshan Kumar flagged off the Tiranga Yatra from the stadium premises.
Players Raise Patriotic Slogans
The atmosphere turned patriotic as players and coaches marched with the Tricolour and raised slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” The participation of a large number of sportspersons added enthusiasm to the campaign and highlighted the importance of patriotism and national unity.
Before the march began, the guests and participants also took part in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation campaign. Saplings were planted on the stadium premises to spread awareness about environmental protection and encourage people to contribute towards a greener environment.
Players Take Pledge to Stay Away From Drugs
An important part of the programme was the message against drug abuse. Athlete Ridhima Sharma administered a pledge to the participating players and coaches, urging them to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
The initiative connected sports with the broader message of youth empowerment, healthy living and social responsibility. Through the programme, participants were encouraged to promote both patriotism and a drug-free society.
Winners Honoured in 400-Metre Race
A 400-metre race was also organised during the programme. Rajan Kumar secured first position, while Lovepreet finished second and Arpit Kaushik took third place.
The winners were honoured with mementos for their performances. The sporting event added an element of competition to the patriotic programme and gave local athletes an opportunity to showcase their talent.
More Tiranga Yatra Activities Planned
BJP district president Mandeep Rana said the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is being conducted from August 9 to August 17 with the objective of strengthening the feeling of patriotism among citizens.
SDM Darshan Kumar said another Tiranga Yatra would be organised on August 14 at 7:30 am near Herbal Park. The upcoming programme is expected to further encourage residents to participate in Independence Day-related activities and display the national flag.
District Sports Officer Ram Swaroop, DIPRO Dharmendra Sharma and other officials and dignitaries were also present during the event.
The Tiranga Yatra at Sector 10 Sports Stadium brought together athletes, coaches, officials and public representatives, combining the messages of patriotism, environmental protection, sportsmanship and a drug-free lifestyle ahead of Independence Day.
