Ambala Municipal Council Removed Illegal hoardings
Ambala, August 7: The Ambala Municipal Council has intensified its campaign against unauthorized advertisements across the city’s major markets by removing illegal hoardings and promotional materials installed on electricity poles and decorative lighting structures in the Ambala Cantonment area.
The special enforcement drive was carried out on Thursday in several busy market locations where municipal teams dismantled banners, posters, and hoardings that had been placed without official permission. Officials said the action is part of an ongoing initiative to improve the city’s appearance and ensure compliance with advertising regulations.
Details of Advertisers Being Collected
During the operation, municipal staff not only removed the unauthorized display materials but also recorded the addresses and mobile numbers printed on the seized hoardings. According to officials, these details will be used to identify the responsible businesses and individuals.
The Municipal Council has announced that notices will soon be issued to those found violating civic advertising rules. Authorities said legal action will follow against advertisers who continue to install promotional materials without obtaining the required permissions.
Previous Notices Result in Compliance
The administration stated that its earlier enforcement efforts have already produced positive results. Following the issuance of 22 notices, more than 15 individuals and businesses voluntarily came forward to comply with the regulations.
Several violators also deposited fines of up to ₹10,000, demonstrating an increased willingness to follow municipal guidelines after the crackdown.
Campaign to Continue
Municipal Council Executive Officer Devender Narwal said the anti-encroachment and advertisement removal drive will continue in the coming weeks. He emphasized that unauthorized hoardings not only spoil the city’s aesthetics but can also pose safety risks when installed on public infrastructure such as electricity poles and decorative street lights.
The Municipal Council has urged businesses and advertisers to obtain proper approvals before installing any outdoor advertising material to avoid penalties and legal action.
Authorities reiterated that similar inspections will continue across other parts of Ambala to maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing urban environment.
