Gudgudi Junction, Ambala, July 27: Social organization Gudgudi Junction concluded the second phase of its five-day tree plantation campaign on Sunday, planting 380 saplings across Ambala City and Ambala Cantonment and distributing another 200 saplings among local residents.
The campaign was organized to spread awareness about environmental protection and encourage people to contribute to creating a greener and healthier environment.
According to district in-charge Dr. Sanjay Gautam and project in-charge Arun Kumar Sharma, the plantation drive began in Ambala City on July 22 under the directions of organization president Chandramouli Gaud. During the initial phase, volunteers planted 160 saplings and distributed another 100 plants to members of the public.
As part of the campaign, the organization has also planned to install tree guards around the saplings it planted. Regular care and maintenance will be carried out to ensure that the newly planted trees survive and grow properly.
On the concluding day of the five-day campaign, volunteers planted 50 shade-giving and fruit-bearing saplings at several locations, including Lal Bahadur Shastri Park, Prem Nagar, Vikas Vihar, Vijay Nagar and Sector 7 parks.
The initiative aims to promote environmental responsibility among residents and encourage greater public participation in tree plantation and conservation activities.
The organizers said continued care of the planted saplings will be important to ensure that the plantation drive delivers long-term environmental benefits for Ambala.
