Ambulance drivers protest and EMTs Protest Transfers, Submit Memorandum in Ambala

Ambala City: Employees working under the Referral Transport-112 Ambulance Service staged a protest against the newly introduced online roster system, alleging that it has led to unfair transfers of ambulance drivers and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) across the district.

The employees, working under the National Health Mission (NHM), submitted a memorandum demanding the immediate withdrawal of the online roster system and restoration of the previous district-level roster arrangement.

Employees Oppose Online Roster System

Under the banner of the Health Employees Union Haryana (Mazdoor Sangh), workers submitted a memorandum addressed to the Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister through the office of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Renu.

The employees argued that the newly implemented online roster has resulted in unnecessary transfers, creating operational and financial difficulties for ambulance staff.

Memorandum Submitted to Former MLA Aseem Goel

Ambulance drivers and EMTs also met former Ambala City MLA Aseem Goel to present their concerns. After hearing the employees, Goel reportedly contacted the department’s director over the phone and assured them that the matter would be discussed again on Monday.

The employees expressed hope that their grievances would be addressed before the transfers are implemented permanently.

Transfer List Sparks Anger Among Staff

The transfer list was issued on Thursday, introducing major changes across Haryana, including Ambala district. Under the revised roster, ambulance drivers and EMTs have been reassigned from their existing ambulances to different units within the district.

Many employees have been transferred 20 to 30 kilometres away from their current workplaces. They argued that the increased travel distance would significantly raise their commuting expenses.

Employees Cite Salary Delays

Staff members also highlighted that salaries are often delayed by two to three months, making additional transportation costs difficult to manage.

The employees urged the government to cancel the online roster system and continue preparing duty rosters at the district level, as was done previously.
