Ambala Lieutenant House Theft: Thieves Break Into Lieutenant’s Government Residence, Escape with Gold Chain, Cash and Bathroom Fittings

A theft at a government residence in Ambala’s high-security military area has raised fresh concerns about security arrangements. Unknown burglars targeted the official residence of an Army lieutenant in Rajendra Singh Enclave while the family was away, making off with gold jewelry, cash, and household fittings.

According to the complaint filed with the police, the incident came to light when the officer’s family returned home after several weeks. The burglars allegedly broke the locks of the house and stole valuables before fleeing the scene.

Gold Chain, Cash and Bathroom Fittings Stolen

The victim, Lieutenant Bhushan Kumar, currently posted with the 2 Maratha Light Infantry, informed the police that his family resides at the government accommodation in Rajendra Singh Enclave, Ambala. Since schools were closed for summer vacations, the family had left for their relatives’ home on May 23.

When they returned on July 5, they discovered that the main locks had been broken and several items were missing. The stolen property reportedly includes:

  • A gold chain weighing around two tolas
  • Cash worth ₹4,000
  • Eight bathroom taps

The family immediately informed the police after noticing the theft.

Police and Army Officials Begin Investigation

Soon after receiving information, local police and Army authorities reached the spot to inspect the residence. Investigators examined the house and collected preliminary evidence.

Police have also started checking CCTV footage installed around the military residential area to identify the suspects and trace their movement before and after the burglary.

Security Concerns Raised in Military Residential Area

The theft has sparked concerns because the incident occurred inside Rajendra Singh Enclave, an area considered highly sensitive due to its military establishments. Residents believe that stronger surveillance and regular patrolling are necessary to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Authorities have assured that all possible angles are being investigated and efforts are underway to identify the people involved in the burglary.

A case has been registered based on the complaint, and the investigation is ongoing. Police officials are relying on CCTV footage and other evidence collected from the scene to identify the accused and recover the stolen property. Further action will be taken once the investigation progresses.
