Ambala Theft: Jewelry and Cash Stolen After Burglars Break Into Locked House

A major Ambala theft case has been reported after burglars broke into a locked house in the city’s upscale GMTD Office Compound area and escaped with gold and silver jewelry, cash, antique coins, and other valuables worth several lakh rupees.

The family was away at their native village when the burglary took place, giving thieves enough time to target the vacant residence.

Burglary Took Place While Family Was Away

According to police, the victim, Rajindra Tiwari, an ATT employee with BSNL, had left for his native village in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, along with his family on June 25.

When the family returned home on Saturday, they found the main lock broken. After entering the house, they discovered that cupboards had been searched and several valuable items were missing.

Gold, Silver Jewelry and Cash Stolen

The thieves allegedly escaped with:

  • Gold and silver jewelry worth several lakh rupees
  • ₹40,000 in cash
  • A JBL speaker
  • 27 antique silver coins
  • Other valuable household items

The incident has caused concern among residents of the otherwise secure residential area.

Police Register Case, CCTV Footage Under Review

Following the complaint filed by Rajindra Tiwari, police registered an FIR and launched an investigation into the Ambala theft.

Investigators have started examining CCTV footage from nearby streets and residential buildings to identify the suspects and trace their movements before and after the burglary.

Residents Urged to Take Precautions

Police have advised residents to remain vigilant, especially when leaving homes vacant for extended periods. Homeowners have been encouraged to inform neighbors, install CCTV cameras, and ensure proper security arrangements before traveling.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials hope CCTV evidence will help identify those responsible for the burglary.
