Ambala government school inspection
Saha, Ambala: Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda expressed strong displeasure over poor sanitation and inadequate drainage arrangements during a surprise inspection of a government school in Saha, Ambala, on Monday.
During the inspection, the minister first checked the school’s water cooler and found that there was no proper drainage system for the water. Water was reportedly spilling onto the floor, leading to wastage and creating unhygienic conditions. Dhanda personally checked the water cooler and drank the water before examining the arrangements.
Minister Questions Officials Over Foul Smell
The Education Minister then inspected the school’s toilets. As he approached the toilet area, he noticed a strong foul smell coming from the premises.
Expressing his anger at the officials, Dhanda questioned how they could stand there without noticing the smell. He reportedly asked whether they could not smell the stench and questioned how students could be expected to study in such conditions.
The minister expressed serious concern over the cleanliness of the school and directed officials to take immediate steps to improve sanitation and complete the required repair work.
Immediate Cleaning and Drainage Work Ordered
Dhanda also inspected the drainage issue near the water cooler. He pointed out that the problem could have been addressed with a simple drainage arrangement and basic repair work.
According to the report, the minister told officials and local representatives that a small drain could be created with basic construction work to divert the water properly. He instructed them to ensure that the drain is cleaned and a permanent arrangement is put in place.
The directions were aimed at preventing water wastage and stopping the accumulation of dirt around the water cooler area.
Surprise Inspection Highlights School Maintenance Issues
The surprise inspection brought attention to basic maintenance and hygiene problems at the government school. The condition of the toilets and the lack of proper water drainage prompted the Education Minister to demand immediate corrective action.
The minister’s visit also highlighted the importance of maintaining clean toilets, proper drainage and hygienic surroundings in government schools, particularly because these facilities directly affect students and staff.
Officials have been directed to address the sanitation and drainage problems without delay.
