Ex-Serviceman Attacked in Ambala
Ambala City: Three people, including a retired Army personnel, were allegedly assaulted with sticks and weapons following a minor bike-car collision at Mata Rani Chowk in Jandli, Ambala City, on Sunday night.
The injured have been identified as Neeraj and Lokesh, residents of Jandli, and retired Army personnel Anil. All three sustained injuries in the attack and are currently undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Ambala City.
Minor Collision Turns Into Violent Attack
According to injured Neeraj, he was travelling in his car when it accidentally brushed against a motorcycle near Mata Rani Chowk. He said that he immediately stopped the vehicle, apologised to the motorcycle rider and tried to settle the matter peacefully.
However, the situation allegedly escalated when several men approached them and attacked them with sticks and other weapons.
The assault left all three injured. Retired Army personnel Anil reportedly suffered a broken tooth, while Neeraj and Lokesh sustained serious injuries to their heads and other parts of their bodies.
Car Windshield Smashed
During the alleged attack, the assailants also damaged the car. The front windshield of the vehicle was reportedly smashed during the incident.
The injured individuals were subsequently taken to Civil Hospital, Ambala City, where they are receiving medical treatment.
Police Begin Investigation
Police have recorded the statements of the injured and have started the process of registering a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the incident.
The exact circumstances surrounding the confrontation and the identities of those allegedly involved are expected to become clearer as the police investigation progresses.
The incident has raised concerns among local residents, particularly because a minor traffic-related disagreement reportedly escalated into a violent confrontation.
