Ambala Civil Hospital Negligence
Ambala: A 52-year-old woman from Karindwa village in Shahabad died while undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Ambala Cantonment on Friday evening. Following her death, her family members created a commotion on the hospital premises and alleged negligence by doctors and hospital staff.
The deceased was identified as Naseebo Devi, who had visited the Ambala Cantt Civil Hospital after experiencing stomach-related problems.
Family Alleges Wrong Injection Caused Death
According to the family, Naseebo Devi had reached the hospital by motorcycle because of discomfort in her stomach. After an examination in the outpatient department (OPD), doctors reportedly advised her to undergo a CT scan.
The family alleged that she was first asked to drink two bottles of water as part of the process. After that, an injection was administered through a cannula.
The relatives claimed that Naseebo Devi’s condition deteriorated shortly after the injection. Despite treatment, she died during the course of treatment.
The family has alleged that a wrong injection may have caused her death and submitted a complaint to the police alleging negligence by the doctor and hospital staff.
Police Begin Investigation
Following the woman’s death, police moved her body to the hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. The post-mortem is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday.
Police said that the exact cause of death would become clear only after the post-mortem report. Authorities are also examining the allegations made by the family regarding possible negligence.
Sukhbir, in-charge of the Regiment Police Post in Ambala Cantt, said that the actual cause of death would be established through the post-mortem report and that the allegations made by the family are being investigated.
Woman Leaves Behind Four Children
According to the information available, Naseebo Devi is survived by three daughters and one son. Her death has left the family distressed, with relatives demanding clarity over the circumstances surrounding her death.
The family has questioned the treatment provided to her at the hospital and has sought action if negligence is established.
At present, the allegations made by the family have not been established. The post-mortem report and further police investigation will be important in determining the actual cause of death and whether any medical negligence took place.
