Police DAV School, Ambala, August 3: Police DAV Public School, Ambala City, emerged as the overall champion at the two-day DAV National Sports Tournament (Cluster Level), showcasing outstanding performances across multiple sporting disciplines. Around 250 student-athletes from 10 DAV schools across the Panchkula and Ambala zones participated in the competition.
The tournament featured exciting contests in the Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 categories for both boys and girls. Winning athletes will now represent the zone at the upcoming DAV Zonal Sports Tournament.
250 Athletes Competed in Multiple Sports
The championship included competitions in:

- Shooting
- Wushu
- Hockey
- Judo
- Lawn Tennis
- Archery
- Karate
- Wrestling
- Skipping Rope
- Netball
- Weightlifting
- Aerobics
The event was organized under the guidance of Principal Dr. Vikas Kohli, while Amita Sachdeva, Principal of DAV Police Public School, Panchkula, served as the chief observer.
Shooting Champions Shine
In the 10-metre Air Pistol and Air Rifle events, several students delivered exceptional performances.
Boys Air Pistol
- Under-14: Swastik Rana secured first place, while Ajay finished second.
- Under-17: Jashan won gold, Darshil claimed silver, and Aman Aggarwal earned bronze.
- Under-19: Gursharandeep Singh finished first, followed by Kunal.
Boys Air Rifle
- Under-19: Anmol Maurya won gold, Jatin Kumar secured silver, and Deep Singh took bronze.
- Under-17: Nikhil finished first, followed by Mayank and Vaibhav.
- Under-14: Udayveer of Hansraj Public School, Panchkula secured first place, while Abhijot of Police DAV Ambala City claimed second.
Girls Deliver Impressive Performances
The girls also excelled in shooting events.
Air Rifle
- Under-14: Advika won gold, while Yachi secured silver.
- Under-17: Aradhya, Vrinda, and Riddhi finished first, second, and third respectively.
- Under-19: Manya Sen (DAV Surajpur) secured gold, Suchita won silver, and Brahmjot (Police DAV Ambala City) earned bronze.
Air Pistol
- Under-14: Anika claimed first place.
- Under-17: Gurleen won gold, Samriddhi secured silver, and Reet finished third.
- Under-19: Kanakpreet Kaur won gold, followed by Ashita and Nehal.
Boxing and Wushu Athletes Win Gold
Police DAV athletes also dominated the boxing and wushu competitions.
Several students, including Manvi, Mannat, Mohini, Samriddhi, Siya, Anya, Dilsirat, Sukhpreet, Shiya Dhiman, Veer, Geetansh, Bhavik, Kavish, Rhythm, Diljot, Karandeep, Jayveer, Krishna, Navneet Singh, Arshit, Ronit, and Gunik, secured gold medals in their respective weight categories.
In Wushu, standout performances came from Rudra, Karan Mishra, Nakul, Tanav Rai Mehta, Lucky Panchal, Arihan Joshi, Harkirat Singh, Jasandeep Singh, Naman, Divyansh Mohan, Anirudh Bhardwaj, and Manan Sharma, who all finished first in their categories.
The tournament concluded with Police DAV Public School lifting the overall championship trophy, reinforcing its strong sporting tradition and preparing its top performers for the zonal-level competitions.
