Ambala Sawan Monday celebrations, August 3: Devotees are set to throng Shiva temples across Ambala Cantonment on the first Monday of Sawan, as temple committees have completed elaborate preparations for one of the holiest days dedicated to Lord Shiva. Thousands of devotees are expected to visit temples from the early hours of Monday to offer jalabhishek and seek blessings.
Temples Ready to Welcome Devotees
Major Shiva temples in Ambala Cantonment have been beautifully decorated ahead of the occasion. Temple committees have also made special arrangements for crowd management, security, and the smooth movement of devotees.
Visitors are expected to start arriving from 5:00 AM, with long queues anticipated throughout the day.
Grand Decoration at Kailash Mandir
The historic Kailash Mandir, Hathikhana, is preparing a unique and grand decoration of Lord Shiva and Nandi Maharaj.
According to temple organizers, the divine adornment will feature a variety of offerings, including:
- Dry fruits
- Fresh fruits
- Assorted nuts
- Sweets
- Fruit beverages
- Chocolates
The special decoration will be carried out late in the evening after devotional programs.
Bhajans and Prasad Distribution
The temple has also planned several religious activities throughout the day.
- Devotees visiting in the morning will receive kheer, fruits, and tikki prasad.
- From 5:00 PM onwards, Lalit Papiha and Party will present devotional bhajans dedicated to Lord Shiva.
- The grand Shringar of Lord Shiva and Nandi Maharaj will take place later at night.
Other Shiva Temples Also Make Arrangements
Preparations have also been completed at Panchdev Mahadev Mandir and Shri Sanatan Dharam Mandir, along with several other Shiva temples across the city.
At Shri Sanatan Dharam Mandir on Hill Road, a Shiv Mahapuran Katha is being organized. The temple will also conduct special aarti and distribute prasad among devotees.
Meanwhile, devotees visiting Panchdev Mahadev Mandir near Subhash Park will perform jalabhishek from early morning, while the temple committee has arranged prasad distribution throughout the day.
Devotional Atmosphere Across Ambala
With Sawan considered one of the most sacred months in the Hindu calendar, Ambala is witnessing a vibrant spiritual atmosphere. Temple authorities have appealed to devotees to cooperate with volunteers and follow the arrangements to ensure a peaceful and orderly celebration.
