Ambala Betting Racket Busted, 4 Arrested

Ambala betting racket, Haryana: The Ambala police have busted a high-profile gambling racket and arrested four people during a late-night raid in Shakti Nagar. The accused were allegedly involved in gambling using colored dice, with bets reportedly reaching ₹1 lakh per round.

The action was carried out by the CIA Staff-1 team on the night of July 27 after police received information about gambling activities at a house in Shakti Nagar. Acting on the tip-off, the team raided a room on the first floor of the house and caught four men allegedly gambling on colored dice.

The arrested accused have been identified as Atul, Anil Kumar, Amanpreet Singh and Deepak Sahni alias Gucchi. They are residents of Chhota Bazar, Himmatpura, Jagadhri Gate and Jaggi Colony areas of Ambala.

According to police, the raid resulted in the recovery of ₹4.40 lakh in cash, four smartphones, two mattresses, eight colored dice and three cars allegedly used in connection with the gambling activity.

₹1 Lakh Bets Found on Colored Dice

CIA Staff-1 ASI Mandeep Singh said the police team found four men sitting on mattresses in the lobby and allegedly placing bets of ₹1 lakh each on colored dice.

During questioning, accused Deepak Sahni allegedly told investigators that he was involved in large-scale gambling with a man named Boby, a resident of Ambala Cantt. Police also suspect the involvement of the house owner, identified as Manish, who allegedly provided the location for the gambling operation.

Main Suspect Manish Still Absconding

Police said Manish, who is allegedly considered the key person in the racket and the owner of the house where the gambling was taking place, is currently absconding. Another suspected associate, Boby, is also being sought.

The police have launched searches at possible locations to arrest both suspects. Investigators are also questioning the arrested accused to determine whether more people were involved and to establish the wider network linked to the gambling operation.

The four arrested accused were produced before a court on Tuesday. The court sent them to judicial custody.

The Ambala police said further investigation is underway, while efforts continue to locate the remaining suspects and uncover additional details about the alleged gambling network.
