Ambala, July 23: An Ambala station master posted at Ambala Cantonment Railway Station lost his life in a tragic road accident on the Ambala-Delhi National Highway on Tuesday night. The deceased has been identified as Murli Manohar Jha, who was serving as a Station Master at Ambala Cantt Junction.
According to police, the accident occurred around 8:30 PM near the GT Road flyover when an unidentified truck allegedly struck Jha’s scooter (Activa). The impact was severe, and he died on the spot before medical assistance could arrive.
Murli Manohar Jha was a native of Madhubani district in Bihar and had been residing with his family in the Railway Colony at Ambala Cantonment for several years. He is survived by his wife, Sangeeta, and two sons aged 19 and 12 years. His elder son, Vaibhav Jha, is currently pursuing his college education.
Railway colleagues expressed grief over his untimely demise, stating that Jha had joined the Indian Railways in 2006 and was known as a dedicated and sincere employee throughout his service.
Following a complaint filed by his son Vaibhav Jha, Padav Police Station registered an FIR against the unidentified truck driver. Police have initiated an investigation to identify the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run case.
After the postmortem examination was conducted at the Civil Hospital, the body was handed over to the family for the last rites. The incident has left the railway community and local residents in shock.
