Ambala News: 18-Year-Old ITI Student Dies After Roadways Bus Collision Near Shahzadpur, Cousin Injured
Ambala Road Accident, June 15, 2026: A tragic road accident near Shahzadpur in Ambala district claimed the life of an 18-year-old girl on Sunday evening after an Activa scooter collided with a Haryana Roadways bus. Another young woman riding with her sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.
The accident occurred near the Shahzadpur T-Point on the Narayangarh Road when two young women were returning home from work. According to local sources, the victims were traveling on an Activa scooter when a Haryana Roadways bus operating on the Narayangarh route allegedly struck the vehicle.
The deceased has been identified as Sameeksha (18), a resident of Nagla Rajputana village. Her cousin, Anu, a resident of Balti village, was injured in the accident and was rushed to a nearby healthcare facility for treatment.
Victim Was Pursuing ITI Studies
Family members revealed that Sameeksha was pursuing an Electrician course at Bharanpur ITI and was also working as an apprentice at a shop in Shahzadpur. Her cousin Anu was reportedly undergoing apprenticeship training at a computer-related business in the area.
The two young women were returning home after completing their daily work responsibilities when the accident occurred.
Passersby Rushed Victims to Hospital
Eyewitnesses and local residents immediately responded after the collision and transported the injured girls to Ambala Cantonment Civil Hospital. However, doctors declared Sameeksha dead upon arrival due to severe head injuries sustained during the accident.
Some residents who assisted in transporting the victims expressed concern regarding the medical response and alleged that treatment was not initiated promptly. Hospital authorities, however, maintained that the young woman had already succumbed to her injuries before reaching the facility.
Family Devastated by Loss
The tragic incident has left the victim’s family in deep shock. Sameeksha’s father, Naresh, stated that he often advised his daughter to use public transport instead of traveling by scooter. He recalled that she had recently turned 18 on June 1 and was highly dedicated to both her studies and family responsibilities.
According to family members, Sameeksha had secured around 87 percent marks in her studies before enrolling in ITI. Apart from her education, she actively helped care for the family’s livestock and was known for her hardworking and responsible nature.
The family had recently celebrated the marriage of their elder daughter, making the sudden tragedy even more heartbreaking.
Police Launch Investigation
Shahzadpur Police have taken possession of the Haryana Roadways bus involved in the accident and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the collision. Authorities are examining witness statements and other evidence to determine responsibility.
Officials confirmed that the post-mortem examination of the deceased will be conducted at Ambala Cantonment Civil Hospital. Meanwhile, the injured cousin continues to receive medical treatment.
The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety and the need for greater caution on busy routes connecting Ambala and Narayangarh.
As the investigation continues, residents have expressed condolences to the bereaved family and called for stricter enforcement of traffic safety measures to prevent similar accidents in the future.
